Asymmetry in some morphological characters of Siganus rivulatus collected from beach of Jalyanah-Benghazi coast: possible use of asymmetry in fish as an indicator of marine pollution.

يستخدم اللاتماثل عادة كمؤشر للتلوث البيئي، حيث تم استخدام كل من قطر عدسة العين، الزعانف الصدرية، الزعانف الحوضية وطول القوس الخيشومية في سمكة البطاطا ((Siganus rivulatus التي تم جمعها من شاطئ جليانا بساحل بنغازى. ولق تم قياس متوسط الطول والوزن وعامل الحالة 15.76 ± 1.72 سم، 50.33 ± 13.05 غرام و1.05 ± 0.18 في بداية التجربة. كان قطر عدسة العين (t = - 0.01)، الزعنفة الصدرية (t = - 0.05) الزعنفة الحوضية (t = - 0.06) وطول القوس الخيشومي (t = - 0.05) من كلا الجانبين مختلفين اختلافا كبيرا. ولكن لوحظ ان الزعانف الصدرية (0.005 ± 0.022) كانت أكثر لا تماثل مقارنة مع قطر عدسة العين (0.002 ± 0.1173، الزعانف الحوضية (0.004 ± 0.01578) وطول القوس الخيشومي (0.0001 ± 0.02445) وكانت درجات التغير في اللاتماثل استجابة للتغيرات البيئية الغير مرغوب فيها مثل التلوث البحري, ويمكن أن يكون مفيدا لو استخدم كعلامة على الإجهاد البيئي في النظم البيئية البحرية.
