The objectives of the research were to identify the level of emotional intelligence and the relationship of emotional intelligence to depressive symptoms and the relationship of each dimension of emotional intelligence with depressive symptoms. The community is 9606 pupils and students of primary education in Shehat Municipality in 2017. The results showed that the level of emotional intelligence was below average and that there was a relationship between emotional intelligence and symptoms. (Total score) with a correlation coefficient of 0.58. There is also a significant relationship between the depressive symptoms and the dimensions of emotional intelligence
