Analysis of global and national migration trends in the context of international changes

Abstract

    The study analyzed the phenomenon of migration from a dual perspective: global and national (local), in light of the major transformations the world is witnessing, such as climate change, armed conflicts, economic crises, and demographic changes. From this perspective, migration is one of the most prominent contemporary global phenomena, with millions of people moving each year from their countries of origin to other countries in search of better life opportunities.

    The study was based on the basic premise: "International changes (such as armed conflicts, climate change, and economic crises) directly affect global and national migration patterns, leading to changes in the policies of migration-receiving and migration-exporting countries, with multiple social, economic, and humanitarian impacts."

    This means that migration is no longer merely a random or circumstantial population movement, but rather a complex result of intertwined political, economic, environmental, and technological factors. This requires countries and societies to develop more flexible and humane mechanisms for managing it. The study reached several conclusions, including that migration has become an expression of global crises, rather than simply an individual decision. Environmental migration still lacks clear legal and humanitarian recognition. There is real potential to transform migration into a development opportunity if fair policies and a comprehensive vision are in place. The study called for the development of legal and ethical frameworks for migration, the recognition of environmental challenges as causes of migration, the achievement of a balance between national sovereignty and human rights, and the strengthening of regional and international cooperation to ensure the fair and humane management of migration, which is not merely a movement from one place to another, but rather a story of dignity in search of land and a dream in search of opportunity. Furthermore, treating this issue as a statistical number excludes its humanity. What is required is an approach that views every migrant as a human being with the potential to contribute and build, if given a fair opportunity.
