Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

General Conditions for Publication Acceptance:

The journal accepts research papers in both Arabic and English, provided they meet the following conditions:

1.The research must be original and adhere to the established principles of scientific research, including comprehensiveness, thorough investigation, contribution to knowledge, methodological rigor, proper documentation, correct language, and precise expression.

2.The research must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere, nor extracted from any prior study, research paper, thesis, or dissertation.

3.The research must adhere to formatting standards, including accurate figures and diagrams (if any), and be submitted as a Word document. The font size should be 12 (Sakkal Majalla) for Arabic and 12 (Times New Roman) for English. The paper should not exceed 30 pages, including footnotes and references.

4.Tables and figures must be correctly placed and include necessary headings and explanatory data. The dimensions of figures and tables should not exceed 11 cm on the page. The research must adhere to the rigorous documentation guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA), utilize sources and references effectively, and include footnotes and a review at the end of the paper as follows:

-Sources and references should be cited by including the author's full name, followed by the publication date in brackets, then the title of the source or reference, followed by the name of the editor or translator, the publisher, the place of publication, and the page number.

The following should be observed for references:

-When using books as sources: Include the author's full name, followed by the publication date in brackets, then the book title (underlined), and finally the publisher, the place of publication, and the page number.

-When using journals as sources: Include the author's full name, followed by the publication date in brackets, the article title, the journal name (underlined), the volume number, the issue number, and the page numbers. The researcher should submit an abstract in both Arabic and English (100-150 words) outlining the methodology, objectives, and results.

-Five keywords should be included after the abstract.

-The journal reserves the right to format the research and highlight its titles in accordance with its publication style.

Articles

Articles are accepted in both Arabic and English, with a word count of 7,000 words (i.e., not exceeding 30 pages). They must meet the standards of scientific research based on established scientific principles and methodologies, including comprehensiveness, thorough investigation, contribution to knowledge, methodological rigor, proper documentation, correct language, and precise expression. The research must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere, nor extracted from any prior study, research, thesis, or dissertation. Tables and figures must be correctly placed and include necessary headings and explanatory data. The dimensions of figures and tables should not exceed 11 cm on the page. Researchers must submit an abstract in both Arabic and English, between 100 and 150 words, outlining the methodology, objectives, and results. Five keywords should be placed after the abstract.

Copyright Notice

First: Fees: The journal does not charge authors any publication fees, nor does it charge any fees for making its content available online under the Creative Commons license, provided that the author and publisher are acknowledged.

Second: Statement of Intellectual Property Rights, Copyright, and Open Access:

Afaq Journal, published by the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Al-Abyar, provides free open access to its issues through its website. It allows any user to read, download, copy, distribute (translate), print, search, or create links to the full texts of the journal's research and issues, analyze them automatically for indexing purposes, send them as software data, or use them for any other legal purpose, without any financial, legal, or other technical barriers beyond those related to internet access itself.

It also emphasizes that the only obstacle to reproduction and distribution, and the sole role of copyright in this area, necessitates granting the authors of the journal's research and reports, and the journal's publisher, control over their works and the right to official recognition and citation.

Afaq Journal publishes its issues as free open access. Subject to respect for intellectual property rights, the website content may be downloaded/printed for convenient reading free of charge, and may be reproduced/copied/stored in retrieval systems, or transmitted by any means, with proper attribution to the author, journal, and publisher.

The information contained on the website, in published issues and research, and the opinions expressed therein reflect the views of the authors and related parties or contributors to the journal, but not necessarily those of the publisher.

The publisher and the journal are not liable for any direct or indirect losses or damages incurred by any individual or organization as a result of the use of any information provided or related to this agreement.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
