Abstract

This research examines Tripoli's resistance to Vandal rule, focusing on the Jamala Revolt as a prominent example of this opposition. The study aims to elucidate the causes and motivations behind the revolt, its organization and planning, the key battles fought by the rebels, and an analysis of its outcomes and impacts on the Vandal presence in the region. The research employs a historical-analytical methodology to review and interpret events, relying on available primary and secondary sources.

Key contents include an examination of the socio-economic and political conditions in Tripoli under Vandal rule, an analysis of "Jamala's" character and leadership role, and the progression of events leading up to and during the revolt, as well as its aftermath. Among the most significant findings is that the Jamala Revolt was not merely a fleeting rebellion but a profound expression of popular rejection of Vandal oppression. It contributed to weakening their grip on the region, thus paving the way for the eventual end of their rule in North Africa.
