Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

The Benghazi University Journal of Engineering  and Applied   Sciences (BUJEAS) is an international peer-reviewed journal published by University of Benghazi. The journal publishes high-quality research articles, review papers, and technical notes in the fields of applied sciences and engineering.

Authors are invited to submit original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

1. Types of Manuscripts

BUJEAS accepts the following types of submissions:

- Research Articles:

Original contributions presenting significant theoretical, experimental, or applied research results.

-Review Articles:

Comprehensive reviews summarizing the current state of knowledge in a specific field.

-Technical Notes:

Short papers describing innovative techniques, methods, or preliminary research findings.

-Case Studies / Applications:

Practical applications of engineering or applied science solutions.

2. Manuscript Preparation

Authors must prepare their manuscripts in clear and concise English.

General Formatting:

  • Manuscripts should be prepared using Microsoft Word or LaTeX.
  • Use Times New Roman, 11–12 pt font.
  • Use single-column format.
  • Pages should be numbered consecutively.
  • The recommended length is 8–15 pages.

3. Structure of the Manuscript

Manuscripts should be organized as follows:

Title Page

The title page must include:

  • Full title of the paper
  • Author names
  • Author affiliations
  • Corresponding author email
  • ORCID (optional but recommended)

Abstract

  • Maximum 200–250 words
  • Clearly summarize the objective, methodology, and main findings.

Keywords

Provide 4–6 keywords.

Main Sections

Typical structure includes:

  1. Introduction
  2. Literature Review (optional)
  3. Methodology / Materials and Methods
  4. Results
  5. Discussion
  6. Conclusion
  7. References

4. Figures and Tables

  • All figures and tables must be clearly labeled and numbered.
  • Figures must be of high resolution.
  • Each figure must have a caption below the figure.
  • Tables must have titles above the table.
  • Figures and tables should be referenced in the text.

5. Citation and References

BUJAES uses a numbered citation style similar to IEEE referencing format.

Example in text:

As demonstrated in previous studies [1], [2].

Example in reference list:

[1] A. Author, “Title of paper,” Journal Name, vol. 10, no. 2, pp. 100–110, 2023.

References should include:

  • Author names
  • Article title
  • Journal or conference name
  • Volume and issue
  • Page numbers
  • Year of publication
  • DOI (if available)
