Abstract
تناول هذا الفصل بالشرح واعطاء أمثلة عن معظم المفاهيم الأساسية في الجغرافيا الحيوية التي يجب
أن يلم بها الطالب لكى يستوعب موضوع الجغرافيا الحيوية. وقد جاءت جميع الأمثلة من قارة أمريكا الشمالية وهو أمر لا يقلل من شمولية هذه المفاهيم على المستوى المكاني، فأمريكا الشمالية قارة شاسعة تمتد عبر العديد من الدرجات العرضية الأمر الذى أكسبها تنوعاً مناخياً ونباتياً الى جانب ما
تزخر به من تنوع تضاريسي وسواحل طويلة على بحار ومحيطات مختلفة وبالتالي، تمثل هذه القارة صورة مصغرة لكوكب الأرض من حيث التنوع البيئي.
