Visually Impaired Persons – Economic Challenges – Social Challenges – Inclusive Education – Family SupportAbstract
This research analyzed the socioeconomic challenges facing students with visual impairments and their families within the context of the global shift towards inclusive education. The significance of the research lies in bridging a knowledge gap in Arabic literature and providing an integrated vision for policymakers. The study aimed to analyze current global trends (2019-2025), explore the disparities between the experiences of developing and developed nations, and provide actionable recommendations. To achieve this, a descriptive-analytical approach based on a systematic review was adopted. A purposive sample of (29) peer-reviewed scientific studies published in databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar were selected based on specific inclusion criteria. The collected data was analyzed using comparative and thematic analysis to identify patterns and trends. The findings revealed the persistence of social challenges, including stigma and isolation, and high economic burdens that weigh heavily on families. Furthermore, educational and technological gaps were identified, such as a lack of accessible materials and inadequate teacher training. Consequently, the research recommended the necessity of developing integrated awareness strategies, creating flexible financial and institutional support mechanisms, and implementing mandatory training programs for educators to foster more equitable and inclusive learning environments
