University students' anxiety about the future in light of certain demographic changes

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the level of future anxiety among male and female students at the University of Benghazi, Faculty of Education, Benghazi, in addition to identifying the differences in future anxiety between male and female students at the University of Benghazi, Faculty of Education, Benghazi. It also aimed to identify the differences in future anxiety between male and female students. Based on the variable of specialization (scientific departments, humanities departments) at the Faculty of Education in Benghazi, and using the Knowledge Scale prepared by Zainab Boushqir in 2005, the researcher followed the descriptive analytical method on a random sample of 100 male and female students. Using the SPSS statistical package, the study found a high level of future anxiety among the study sample, with males exhibiting more anxiety than females. However, no differences were found in the variable of specialization among the sample members. However, no differences were found in the variable of specialization among the sample members. Based on the study's findings, the researcher recommends providing continuous awareness lectures to all segments of society equally, activating family counseling, providing services to students, and facilitating specializations to enable them to practice different professions and diversify their fields of study. The researcher also suggested conducting studies on the variable of future anxiety in conjunction with other variables such as academic achievement, academic and psychological adjustment, in addition to conducting studies on different segments of university students with various variables.
