Abstract

Undoubtedly, critical creativity requires continuous reading, analysis, and engagement so that the critic can delve into the depths of the texts. As has been said, the critic's role today is to participate in the production of texts The book "The Aesthetics of Reception: A Critical Reading of Contemporary Arabic Poetry," comprising 445 pages and published by Dar Al-Ma'rifah Al-Jami'iyah in Egypt in 2014, is a review study exploring and analyzing reader reception and its impact on understanding contemporary Arabic poetry. The book focuses on how readers receive poetic texts, highlighting how some poems are perceived as more effective and competitive than others.

In this book, Dr. Fawzi employs a modern critical approach that integrates aesthetic and literary theories. The book also discusses the influence of social and cultural factors on the reader's experience during the reading process. Its interaction with the poetic text, focusing on the interaction of poetic texts with the reader and the stimulation of their aesthetic and emotional sensibilities.

The book also presents examples from contemporary Arabic poetry to analyze different modes of reception, highlighting prominent poets and how their works can be received in diverse ways depending on the varying cultural and social backgrounds of readers. Overall, the book is a significant contribution to the fields of literary criticism and aesthetics, offering new insights into how poetry is understood and received in the modern Arab world..

The research is structured with an introduction, main text, conclusion, and a list of sources and references. The comprehensive research employed is descriptive analysis, as it presents future concepts of reception aesthetics, defines its terminology, and deconstructs its symbolic meanings
