Assessment of the environmental impacts of the sewage treatment in Ajdabiya

Abstract

This study sheds light on one of the most important problems that many cities suffer from, which is the problem of the impact of human factors on the spread of pollution manifestations in the Saluk area, where the population growth in the area accompanied the increase in the quantities of water used for all domestic and industrial purposes and public and agricultural utilities. Thus, the quantities of sewage sewage increased, as well as the population increase and the2 increase in industrial activities and consumables in quantity and quality, and consequently, the quantities of sewage sewage and waste increased. These problems formed (sewage water was dumped into black wells due to the lack of a sewage network in all neighborhoods of the region, which led to the problem of surface sewage in the streets of the neighborhoods of the region and also the leakage of this water and its pollution to the groundwater, where there is the largest underground reservoir in the region (a dumping tank) in addition to the problem of waste and its accumulation in the roads or burning and the consequent pollution and danger to the health of the population) and to the environmental systems in the region. From the study and research, it was concluded that the area suffers from a clear environmental deterioration in the general appearance of the area as a result of the surface eruption of sewage water, in which the severity of the problem increases in the winter season as a result of the mixing of wastewater with rainwater, due to the absence of a network to drain rainwater in the area, and also the exposure of the population to this neighborhoods (for several environmental, health, social and psychological damages).
