How familiar are the deans of colleges and office managers with the concept of strategic planning

Abstract

The rapid changes in the surrounding environment and the increase in its complexity, and the emergence of many challenges facing the educational institution, all of this increased the importance of strategic planning to predict future conditions and prepare to face any challenges that stand in the way of these institutions. to achieve success. The study was conducted on deans of faculties and office managers at the University of Tobruk. To know the extent to which the deans and office managers in the upper and middle administrations are familiar with the concept of strategic planning and to know the importance of applying strategic planning. The descriptive analytical approach was used, and the questionnaire tool was adopted as a main tool in collecting data from the study sample. To analyze the data, a set of statistical methods were used in the statistical packages program (spss), the most important of which are: the arithmetic mean and standard deviation of the statistical package program (spss) and the results showed that the majority of The members of the study community have no knowledge of the concept of strategic planning. One of the obstacles that prevents the implementation of strategic planning is the scarcity of specialized leadership competencies and experiences.
