Agriculture is one of the most important economic activities and the most affected by climatic elements. Therefore, climate is one of the most important natural factors that affect agricultural activity. It is also one of the most influential natural factors in determining the types of agricultural crops, as it determines the areas that can be planted with certain crops. The wheat crop represents the main source of human nutrition since it was known and practiced, and it ranks second after rice in its nutritional importance in many parts of the world. The barley crop ranks third in the world in terms of economic importance after rice. Given the importance of field crops (wheat and barley) in the Al-Marj region in particular and at the level of Libya in general, this study dealt with the most important climatic factors affecting the cultivation of field crops, Where the first topic was devoted to studying the natural characteristics that affect in general the quantities of production and the cultivated area, the second topic was devoted to studying the impact of climate on the cultivation of field crops, and the third topic came to shed light on the geographical distribution of the production of wheat and barley crops. The study ended with a set of results and recommendations, including the impact of the production of wheat and barley crops on natural factors, especially the elements of the climate. The study also relied on the utilitarian or applied approach, the fundamentalist approach, the regional approach and the cropping approach.
