Abstract

The current research aimed at identifying the extent to which faculty members in private universities in the city of Benghazi practice academic freedom in light of some variables , and the research community consisted of (976 ) faculty members (132 ) questionnaire forms ,which were  distributed , represented the research sample of faculty members . (123 ) forms were retrieved , while ( 10 ) were considered lost . the questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection . the statistical package  ( spss ) was used for the purpose of statistical analysis, where the frequencies and percentages were community . the standard deviations and arithmetic averages were also calculated to find out the degree to which  faculty members in private universities practice academic freedom . in addition  ,   ( t) test and analysis of variance and the value of (f) were used to see if there were statistically  significant  Differences in the practice of academic freedom by faculty members in private universities in the city  of Benghazi the research concluded that the degree of practice by faculty members in private universities in the city of Benghazi for the dimensions of academic freedom was average .the research also found that there are no statistically significant differences attributed to variables ( type , length of service , specialization ) at the significance level of α = 0.05 with regard to faculty members , practice of academic freedom in private universities in the city of Benghazi .
