Sports injuries are one of the obstacles that face players, coaches and practitioners of sports activities and prevent them from achieving the desired goals, as well as exposure to the factor of fear of recurring injury, which affects skill and technical performance and the accompanying cases of tension, anxiety, frustration and poor psychological and administrative preparedness, and these negative effects may extend to Attempting to involve the injured in training despite their incomplete recovery, which exposes them to the possibility of recurring the injury, so the researchers decided to delve into the study to determine the injuries of the lower extremity and the reasons for their occurrence among students of the Faculty of Physical Education at Sebha University as a previous step to know methods of preventing injuries and reducing the possibility of their occurrence to ensure the continuity of students in Training and maintaining the safety of students, which represents one of the most important goals of physical education and sports sciences. The researchers used the descriptive approach in the survey method by building a standardized questionnaire form distributed to the research sample, which included 108 students who were exposed to lower extremity injuries during the academic year. The results indicated that the lower extremity injuries, such as the wrist tear and the connective muscles, represent the most common injuries among students, especially in the periods of physical preparation and competitions that take place between school stages in the college. Therefore, the researchers recommend the need to pay attention to strengthening the muscles and ligaments surrounding the ankle and knee joint, as they are the most used and most vulnerable to injury. Attention should be paid to warming up at the beginning of the practical lectures or the training unit, in addition to the necessity of integration in training the elements of physical fitness and compatibility in the training of muscle groups, especially the working ones and those involved in motor performance.
