Authorship Contribution Policy

The Journal is dedicated to applying the highest standards of academic integrity and transparency in documenting scholarly contributions, in full alignment with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international coalitions of peer-reviewed journals in the fields of media, communication, and digital studies. This policy establishes the regulatory frameworks for attributing authorship in collaborative research and the institutional mechanisms for managing them.

  • First: Mandatory Authorship Declaration Form When submitting a manuscript through the Journal’s electronic system, authors must attach an Authorship Declaration Form, signed by hand or via an approved electronic signature by all co-authors. The form must precisely define, via a detailed matrix, the conceptual, methodological, and executive role that each researcher performed in preparing the study.
  • Second: Institutional Email Verification The Journal requires the provision of an institutional email address for every co-author listed on the manuscript. Upon manuscript submission, the Journal's electronic system transmits simultaneous automated notifications to all authors, informing them of their inclusion in the manuscript. It requires them to formally confirm their consent to publish, approve the order of authorship, and acknowledge their joint liability for the research content.
  • Third: Editorial Eligibility Review The manuscript undergoes an initial technical screening by the Managing Editor to cross-match the declared roles of the researchers against authorship eligibility criteria. If it is determined that a listed individual’s role was limited to financial support, casual consultation, or copyediting, the Managing Editor—in coordination with the Editor-in-Chief—will issue a formal notification to the corresponding author to relocate the name to the "Acknowledgments" section and remove it from the author list. Compliance with this adjustment is a mandatory requirement for the Editorial Board to accept the manuscript and advance it to the peer-review stage.
  • Fourth: Restriction on Unjustified Modifications Once the initial verification is complete and the manuscript transitions to the evaluation and peer-review stage, the authorship structure (the number of researchers and their order) is considered final and frozen against modification. The Editor-in-Chief will not consider any request to add, delete, or rearrange names unless backed by an exceptional scientific justification subject to direct review and determination by the Editorial Board, and contingent upon submitting a collective written statement signed by all authors without exception.
