Aims and Scope
The Libyan Journal of Media Research (LJMR) is an open-access, peer-reviewed academic journal published semi-annually. Adhering to a strict double-blind peer-review system, the journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), ensuring immediate and free access to all published content. LJMR welcomes the submission of original, rigorous, and high-quality scientific research papers, contemporary book reviews, and comprehensive academic thesis abstracts (Master's and Doctoral) in the fields of communication and media sciences. The journal aims to establish a sustainable knowledge bridge between academic theory and professional media practice.
The thematic and objective scope of the journal encompasses the following core research tracks:
- First: Foundational and Historical Research in Media Sciences: Covering epistemological and cognitive studies, the theoretical anchoring of communication models, and the historical evolution of media institutions and phenomena.
- Second: Media Effects and Impact Measurement Research: Investigating audience behavior, public reception dynamics, and the psychological, social, cultural, and political impacts of media content within both traditional and digital ecosystems.
- Third: Media Roles and Performance Evaluation: Focusing on the professional assessment of media institutions, evaluating their developmental and societal responsibilities, and examining media laws, regulations, and publishing ethics.
- Fourth: Public Opinion and Attitudinal Trends: Encompassing studies on media campaigns, elite and public attitudinal trends, mechanisms of public opinion formation, propaganda analysis, and informational disorder or disinformation studies.
- Fifth: Specialized Research in Emerging and Digital Media Fields: Exploring the networked communication environment, the integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in journalism, digital media economics, and interdisciplinary studies related to media and digital transformation
