Abstract

The study aimed to identify the reality of the use of the Internet in scientific research among the faculty members of the faculties of the Mountain Martyrs Complex at the University of Omar Al-Mukhtar in Al-Baida. The sample of the study consisted of (60) member of the teaching staff of the faculties of the martyrs of the mountain, represented in the Faculty of Arts - Economics - Law, who are responsible for the study of the most important obstacles to use in scientific research. The questionnaire used the descriptive method and was based on the simple random sample. The questionnaire tool was used as the main tool for collecting the study data. The number of valid questionnaires for the statistical analysis was (40) (67%) of the study sample, (95%), and that the purpose of their use is for the purpose of scientific research (89%). The results of the study are: The most prominent obstacle to their use of the Internet The study reached a number of recommendations, the most important of which were: the development of the infrastructure in all the faculties of Omar Al-Mukhtar University and the provision of various equipment for the use of the Internet, breaking the language barrier The elimination of information illiteracy and information awareness through the establishment of training courses, and the establishment of electronic libraries in the university libraries to help in training the beneficiaries in the research methods
