The Possibility of Converting The Water Lake of AL-Mahagah Dam To Be Continually In The Al-Jabel Al-Akhder

Abstract

The location of AL-Mahagah dam is in the Upper part of the AL-Ramlah Valley at the
South of Ashenishin village which belong to Al-Faidia region and which was constructed
eightieths of the last century,and did not lead its lake water the purpose for which the dam
was established , because there are sink karst at the floor of the dam lake which draining the
lake water which will occur after the flow of the torrent valley AL-Mahagah, for this reason
the water in the lake of the dam does not continues for more than 200 days after filling up,
this study shows that the controls and good management for the leakage of water can be
done very well which associated to the sinks then can make the lost of water from the lake
does not exceed 0.5 cm / day, and this provides an opportunity to make the waters of the dam
lake continuously for more than two years, and the water in the lake may stay for long time
and efficiency if we can develop and maintains the dam .
