Abstract

The development of scientific research is considered one of the most important goals pursued by all countries that aspire to develop their knowledge and scientific infrastructure to achieve prosperity and excellence in all aspects of life. Following the path of those who preceded us, this study came to learn more about the most important of these challenges in terms of social, economic, academic and administrative aspects related to the nature of scientific research and aspects related to the researcher, with a sample of (75) university professors in a number of colleges in the western region. In order to reach its objectives, the questionnaire tool was used, as well as a number of statistical methods, including the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, relative weight, Pearson correlation coefficient, Alpha Cronbach coefficient, Jutman coefficient, and the (T) test. The results of this study indicated that academic challenges topped the list of challenges facing scientific research, followed by economic challenges. Followed by social challenges, followed by administrative challenges, followed by challenges related to the nature of scientific research, and finally the challenges related to the researcher are in the last place, as the responses of the sample members came in very large proportions to all these challenges, and indicated that there were no statistically significant differences due to the variables of sex and college.
