Abstract

The topic revolves around the study of the nature of family relations in light of the changes resulting from the sudden rise in prices and weak purchasing power as a result of low income to provide for family requirements in light of the conditions that the Libyan society is going through, where the head of the family has become facing a great burden, imposing a new economic situation that exceeds his economic returns and his ability to  fulfilling the needs of his family, forcing him to resort to increasing working hours and searching for another source of income.

 The paper seeks to reveal the correlations between the variables of low income and high prices, and what is reflected in the nature of the family relationship and its adaptation.

  And to provide a theoretical vision on the rooting of inflation as a process of continuous and tangible increase in the general level of prices and services, and the imbalances it poses in the economic structure.  And knowing the most influential variables.

The focus was directed towards describing the decline in income and the rise in prices and its reflection on the nature of family relations, taking the heads of families residing in some shops in the city of Misurata as a model using the social survey of the sample of workers in the government sector, and the interview form provided by personal communication. Among the most important results: -

 - description (sample characteristics),

  Most of the sample members are in the age group (31-40 years).

 That they have a university education, and the duration of the marriage period is (10 years or more).  They belong to large nuclear families, intertwined urban background with medium and low economic levels and live in adequate housing conditions.

 - The results on the five-point gradient scale of the nature of family relations degrees indicate that there is no relationship between low income and high prices towards the nature of family relations on the scale, despite the greed of merchants and the absence of regulatory and supervisory authorities to protect consumers, high prices, and the burden that social events pose on income. The nature of close-knit family relationships kept strong.
