Abstract

The study aimed to find out the role of secondary schools in the city of Marj in developing their students’ awareness of crises and disasters from the point of view of teachers in light of some demographic variables (gender, specialization, academic qualification ). The researcher used the descriptive approach to achieve its goals. The sample consisted of ( 150 ) male and female teachers. The secondary stage included ( 68 ) male teachers and ( 82 ) female teachers. They were selected using a simple random sampling method. The study was applied using a questionnaire that was developed based on theoretical literature and previous studies. The researcher conducted reliability coefficients on their fields using the ( Cronbach’s alpha ) coefficient of reliability. Honesty using the honesty of the arbitrators And self-honesty , the results showed that the degree of awareness among secondary school students about crises and disasters was average , in all fields of study. The results also indicated that the demographic variables were calculated and that there were no statistically significant differences attributable to For the variable of type, specialization , or academic qualification, the researcher recommended the necessity of having a course specializing in crises and disasters that is Applying it at the secondary level or creating a study unit within current curricula to enhance students’ awareness of crises and disasters to achieve effectiveness in dealing with them.
