Classification of evaluation indicators of the company's ability to continue from the auditors' point of view: An Applied Study in the Libyan Stock Market

Abstract

This study aims at identifying the classification of the evaluation’s indicators of the Company's Going Concern, according to its importance from the External Auditors perspective of the listed companies in the Libyan stock market, namely financial indicators, operational indicators and other indicators predetermined in the international auditing standard No. 570. The Descriptive Methodology was used in the research. A questionnaire designed and distributed to the employees of audit offices registered in the Libyan stock market for the year 2012, which audits the companies listed therein. The study finds that there is a commitment by the auditors of the listed companies in the Libyan stock market to be guided by the financial indicators, operational indicators and other indicators set in the International Standard No. (570) in evaluating the Company's Going Concern. The importance of financial indicators came primarily, followed by operational indicators and the importance of other indicators came in third place in terms of degree of classification of the auditors.
