The Coronavirus Pandemic and Human Values: A Study in The Field of Philosophy

Abstract

Values are considered modern-day problems due to what humanity goes through from disasters and scourges. These disasters include the Corona pandemic, which put humanity in a critical and embarrassing state, and as a result of some attitudes towards fighting the disease,  people became confused as to what should be done and what should not,. In addition to the intimidating speech and over-dramatizing of the media which accompanied this pandemic.

This research came as an awareness raiser on the significance of Philosophy in these universal disasters, to show how this field works on establishing, cherishing and emphasizing work ethics especially in the medical field. 

The call for establishing values in a time when humans hold sacred material things and forsake respecting the value of spirit is something of great importance.

The act of enhancing, emphasizing and providing insight to human values in order to resist some negative behavior found in the Medical field will contribute to preserving the existential value of the human being.

We try to elicit the stand and attitude of the field of Philosophy towards this troubled world filled with scientific revolutions and events that are relevant to human values. The reference to human values is key to identifying the pathway of medical ethics under the continuous and fast elevation in the field of Medicine and Biology, as the development in this scientific field threatens values and causes confusion in knowing its standards, levels, and authenticity.

 Therefore, there are problems regarding the ethical side we must acknowledge and we must emphasize committing to human values and principles defined by humanity through religious and legal different covenants.
