The Role of Play in The Emotional،Moral and Social Development of Children Aged 3-6 Years from The Point of View of Mothers

Abstract

Chidhood، especially early childhood، is characterized by playing ، which some parent many consider a wast time and waste of the child's various energy and power، while some them see the play as an integral part of child"s daily life and activies، Accordingly. The current study aimed to identify the role of play in the emotional. Moral and social development of children aged (3-6) years from the mother's point of view، and to identy the significance of the difference in mothers' perspectives according to variables of age، educational qualification، and professions. Descriptive analytical method، the sample consisted of (104) mothers for a number of children amounted to (158) boys and girls in the city of Tripli، in Souq al jumaa area – and the questionnair was used as study tool. The results indicated that the mothers، views confirm that play plays an important and vital role in the social development of child in first order، then in the second orderin importance was the role of play in moral development of child، and finally the importance of the role of play in emotional development came in the third order. The results also indicated that there were statistically significant differences at the level (0.05) in the mothers'views according to the variables of study، and those results were discussed in the light of the theoretical framework and previous studies، and a number of recommendations and suggestions were presented to complete the benefit.
