The advantage of using Facebook in academic communications: case study to library & information department in Benghazi University

The paper aim to identify the average of use the social networking, Facebook in the motivation of optimal communication between library & information department and its students, by measuring the average of publications, number of responding and interactive with posts. The mix metedology has been used as an interpretive approach to achieve the primary aims of this study, which is to extract the real world complexity and evolve the use of social networks and thereby to realize the main target of improving the use of social networks in accordance with the original problematical situation. Several of tools were used to collect data (online questionnaire, content analysis and Insighits tool).
The findings showed that there were statically significant differences in using Facebook application in academic communication among student and academic staff.
