The poetry of displacement in the poetry of Nazik al-Malaika, study and analysis

Abstract

The displacement phenomenon, is an expressive connotation that distinguish between poetry language
and the communication language, and it's a tool the speech relies on it to emphases it's poetry, but if we
look into the poetry we will find it a rhetorical and annunciation form of speech, that is trying to create a
beautiful function that cooperate with the annunciation function though the language of the ordinary
speech doesn‟t contain any displacement, while the beauty of literature depends on the displacement,
because literature and poetry are unique while it comes to their use of language, so it is trying to use all it
lexical and phonetic capabilities, from the cooperation of the structural and semantics elements can the
beauty function appear, the research was involved in observing the poetry aspects in this text. Therefore,
the poetry of Nazik Al - Malaikatried through her variety of displacement in this research despite of its
lexical, structural or rhythmic levels to display the beauty functions that the stylistic analysis is leading to
using the stylistic metaphors of the poetess, this make us follow a scientific method depend on objectivity,
and because the scientific method is sufficient of that, by describing it a verbal inherited system and full of
beautiful values, we so to embrace this method with conviction, depending on a bunch of performance
procedures to study this text to reveal its treasures and the visions of the poetess. And the method that used
in the research was the analytical and descriptive method beside the stylistic method. And the study has
contained an introduction and two subjects:
The first subject talks about the theoretical part of the displacement where it contained a brief about the
concept of displacement in the language and then dealt with the similar terms and also its concept in the
Arabic culture and then displayed its most prominent types, the second subject contained the practical side
and focused on the substitution displacement that it was all about the metaphor, but perhaps it's the most
important stylistic displacement, therefore we find that it has garnered attention of the critical intellect
despite the difference in the depth of vision and the analysis through different ages.
