Abstract

The study aimed to know the level of emotional deprivation and aggressive behavior and to know if there is
a statistically significant correlation between emotional deprivation from parents and aggressive behavior
among students of the second part of basic education in schools in the city of Sluk, as well as whether the
gender factor (males - females) has a role In determining the differences between the two variables among
the students, where they numbered (200) male and female students, the sample was chosen randomly,
consisting of (80) male and female students. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers used
the Albayati and Ali (2009) emotional deprivation scale, and the Khashwi (2013) aggressive behavior
scale, and the internal consistency of aggressive behavior was extracted (0.28 - 0.65), and the emotional
deprivation scale was (0.30 ¬ 79). This indicates that the two scales have an appropriate degree of validity,
and the reliability was calculated using Cronbach's alpha method for a sample of (30) students. The overall
reliability coefficient of the scale was (0.87) for emotional deprivation. The stability coefficient of the
overall scale was (0.81) for aggressive behavior, and this is that the two scales have a high stability
coefficient, and the study tool was applied to the sample members, and after data collection, it was
unloaded into the computer for the statistical packages for social sciences (spss) program. Where some
appropriate statistical methods were used, such as arithmetic means, standard deviations, t-test and Pearson
correlation coefficient, and the study reached the following results: The presence of a level of emotional
deprivation and aggressive behavior among students of the first year of the second half of basic education
in the schools of the city of Sluk, with a medium degree. There is also a statistically significant correlation
between emotional deprivation and aggressive behavior. And there were statistically significant differences
in emotional deprivation among students of the first year of the second part of basic education due to the
gender variable (males - females) in favor of males. It also showed that there were statistically significant
differences in the aggressive behavior of the first year students of the second part of basic education due to
the gender variable (males - females) in favor of males.
