Addiction to social networking sites "Facebook" and its relationship to the emergence of sleep disorders among a sample of students of the College of Arts and Sciences - Saluk

The present study aimed to know the level of addiction on social networking sites "Facebook" as a model and its relationship to the emergence of sleep disorders in a sample of students of the faculty of Arts and sciences – salouk. It also aimed to identify the differences of the addiction on Facebook and sleep disorders according to gender and major variables. The sample consisted of (264) students of Arts and Science departments who use Facebook. The data was collected by a questionnaire for addiction on Facebook prepared by Yamina Bouayana (2006) and sleep disorders scale by Anwar Hamouda (2007). The results showed that the level of the sample of the addiction on Facebook and the appearance of disorders was median, it also showed that there is a positive correlation between the addiction on Facebook and the appearance of sleep disorders at the level of indication 0.05, it also showed differences due to the gender variable in the addiction on Facebook for males, the results showed no differences attributed to the major variable. The results also showed differences due to the gender variable of sleep disorders for males, and it also showed differences due to the variable of major for students of Arts departments.
