The role of school administration in developing health awareness among students of the primary schools in Benghazi city

Abstract

The current study aimed to know the role of school administration in developing health awareness among students of the primary schools in Benghazi city, and to identify the statistical significant differences in the study sample answers about the role of school administration in developing health awareness among students of the basic education stage in Benghazi city according to the following demographic variables (age, marital status, and academic qualification). In addition to that, identifying the existence of a statistically significant correlation between the respondents' responses and the variable of experience. The current study used the analytical descriptive method, and the questionnaire used as a tool to measure the role of school administration in developing health awareness among students of the primary schools in Benghazi city. The questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of (160) from a population of (24882) teachers in all primary schools in Benghazi with (70) male and (90) female teachers. The questionnaire consisted of three areas (health education, safe school environment, and school nutrition education). To analyze the study data, a statistical analysis program (SPSS) used. The results of the study concluded that the role of school administration in developing health awareness among students of the primary schools in Benghazi from the teachers’ point of view came to a high degree,  The findings also found that there are no statistically significant differences at a significance level of 0.05 between the average response of teachers with regard to the role of school administration in developing health awareness among students in the primary schools in Benghazi attributable to ( age, marital status, and academic qualification). Furthermore, there is no statistically significant correlation between the respondents' answers and the variable of experience. Therefore, the study recommended that the importance of holding training workshops for administrators and teachers of basic education schools on developing health awareness among their students.
