:Abstract
The study deals with a geographical analysis of the Libyan agricultural industries for the period 1970-2004. There is no doubt that agriculture contributes to industrial development and raising the per capita income of the population. It plays an important strategic role in achieving food security for the various peoples of the world. Therefore, all the peoples of the earth have paid special attention to it. The Libyan Jamahiriya is one of the countries that aspire to comprehensive development in various economic and social sectors in the country, including agriculture, which has received special attention.
The study aimed to achieve a development strategy for agricultural industries that focused on the following areas: Increasing agricultural production to ensure achieving the highest production rates of agricultural and food commodities to achieve self-sufficiency and food security and reduce dependence on imports. Raising the level of productive capacity of labor, capital and agricultural land with the aim of achieving an increase in farmers’ income. Linking agricultural production with industry to ensure greater integration between the two sectors, by expanding the production base of agricultural raw materials on the one hand, and increasing local production of industrial products to meet the crisis for the agricultural sector on the other hand
