The current research aimed to identify the effect of using active learning strategies in developing the academic achievement of the school mathematics course, and the retention of the effect of learning among students of the Mathematics Division of the College of Education, and the research sample consisted of (15) students.To achieve the objectives of the research, the textbook for the first secondary grade - Part One - was provided during the process of teaching and learning the target content using active learning strategies, and preparing an achievement test. The results of the research showed that: the effectiveness of active learning strategies in developing academic achievement, and the retention of the effect of learning among the students of the research sample. The researcher recommended the need to direct faculty members towards employing active learning strategies in the teaching and learning process.
