This research aims to identify the relationship between psychological needs and psychological adjustment among students in the seventh and ninth grades of basic education. It also aims to identify the differences between students in the variables of psychological needs and psychological adjustment according to the variables of gender (males-females) and school year (seventh-ninth) of the basic education. The research sample included 220 male and female students, 1055 males, and 115 females. The researcher used the psychological needs scale prepared by Abdul Hakim Jumaa (2014) and the psychological adjustment scale prepared by Zainab Al-Awjali (1998). The researcher also used appropriate statistical methods in analyzing and processing the data, including the Pearson correlation coefficient. The T-test was used to calculate the significance of the differences between the means, the arithmetic mean, and the standard deviation. The results showed that there was a statistically significant correlation between the psychological needs variable and the psychological adjustment variable. This means that the higher the level of psychological needs, the higher the level of psychological compatibility, and vice versa. There are significant differences instatistical significance between the average scores of students on the psychological needs and psychological adjustment scales according to the gender variable (males - females), and the differences were in favor of the female sample, meaning that females are more satisfied with psychological needs and more psychologically compatible than males. There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of seventh and ninth grade students in the levels of psychological needs and psychological adjustment, as both are at a average level.
