Emotional intelligence and self-confrontation ability as predictors of quality of life for students of psychological counseling specialization at Al-Aqsa University

The present study aimed to identify the predictive force of emotional intelligence variables and the self-confronting ability with quality of life among psychological counseling students at Al-Aqsa University, and to know The relationships between the scale degrees for each of emotional intelligence, self-confronting ability, quality of life, in addition to recognize of differences in the level of emotional intelligence, self-confronting ability, and quality of life that are attributed to variables of: sex, academic average, and academic level.
The study sample consisted of (345) students of psychological counseling, Faculty of Education, Al-Aqsa University, Gaza, Palestine.
The researcher used the following tools: Emotional Intelligence Scale, Prepared by Bar-On and Barker, Translation and Arabization: Rizk Allah Suhail, and Self-confronting Ability Questionnaire, Prepared by: Researcher and Quality of Life for University Students Scale, prepared by Mahmoud Mansi and Ali Kazem.
The researcher also used the following statistical methods: Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression equation, and multiple variance analysis.
The results of the study showed a statistically significant positive relation at level (0.01) between the scores of emotional intelligence and the quality of life among the target students.
The results of the study also showed a statistically significant positive relation at level (0.01) between the scores of self-confronting ability and the quality of life among the target students.
The results of the study also indicated prediction both of emotional intelligence and self-confronting ability with the quality of life among the target students.
The results of the study also showed no differences in the scales of emotional intelligence, self-confronting ability, and quality of life, according to the variables of: sex, academic average, and academic level.
