Abstract

This study was aimed to investigate possibility of growing lemon grass plants (Cymbopogon citrates) as a new aromatic plant in Al-Jabal Al-AKhdar region and study the effect both of organic fertilizer and bio-fertilizer on vegetative growth. Organic fertilization caused a significant increment in plant height and number of tiller per plant as the rate of sheep manure increased, thought. Bio-fertilizer inoculation reflected a significant in cease in plant height and number of tiller / plant, no difference appeared between the tow tested levels of the bio-fertilizer. All compound treatment led to a significant increment in both of plant height and number of tiller per plant. Increasing sheep manure levels reflected a significant increase in fresh weight / plant in all cuts of the two seasons of study. Inoculation lemon grass plants by the two tested levels of the bio-fertilizer caused in a significant increase in plant fresh weight compared to control. No difference between the two levels were recorded. The interactive treatments fulfill a significant increment in plant fresh weight. Increasing the rate of (SM) reflected a significant increasing in plant dry weight compared to untreated control. Bio-fertilizer in both seasons of study caused significant increase on plant dry weight compared to control plants. The effect of the two levels of bio-fertilizer was the same. All interactive treatments significantly increased plant dry weight compared to untreated plants. Sheep manure treatments reflected a progressive significant increment in fresh herb yield per hectare. Bio-fertilizer caused in significant positive effect on in fresh herb yield / hectare compared to control. The effect of the two tested levels was on bar. All interaction treatments actualize significant increase in total yield of fresh herb yield / hectare compared to control. Applying (SM) at the two tested rates caused a progressive increment in dry herb yield / hectare in both seasons of study. Inoculation of lemon grass by bio-fertilizer significantly increased total dry herb yield / hectare compared to control. The effect of low rate and the higher one of the bio-fertilizer was equal. All interaction treatments led to significant increase in dry herb yield / hectare.
