Abstract

Technical and vocational education plays a strategic role in the development and progress of any society looking to the future ,which requires focus,  financial and human support for its important role in providing  the highly qualified technical capabilities in the various economic, industrial, and service fields.

In order to ensure this important role, technical and vocational education must be developed . The purpose of the development is not only to improve the curricula, prepare the teacher, and rehabilitate the infrastructure, but the main purpose is to create a professional technical education system with an efficiency, quality that improves human capabilities to meet global and local development.

Accordingly, this study aims to develop a proposed vision for the development of technical and vocational education in Libya, where the researcher studied this subject through the following topics:

1) The concept of technical and vocational education , and its importance and objectives.

2) The reality of technical and vocational education in Libya,  and its   difficulties and problems .

3) Review of local, Arab and regional studies on technical and vocational education.

The researcher used the descriptive approach in order to analysis of literature and previous studies that dealt with the subject of technical, and vocational education. The study concluded with a set of results and developed a theoretical perspective for the development of technical and vocational education in Libya
