Abstract

This study aimed to determine the difficulties of teaching art education in the basic education stage in the city of Benghazi from the point of view of the subject teachers.  Using the descriptive analytical approach, the study population consisted of all teachers of art education for the basic education stage in the educational services offices (Benghazi, Al-Baraka, and Al-Salawi), who numbered (498) male and female teachers, from which a simple random sample of (217) individuals was chosen, and for data collection  The interview was used, a questionnaire consisting of 40 paragraphs, and its stability and validity were verified, and distributed to the study sample. The number of recovered and analyzeable questionnaires reached (180) questionnaires, and their percentage was (36.14%) of the study population. For data analysis, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, and test were used.  (T.test), and one way ANOVA).

The results of the study concluded that the level of difficulties in teaching art education for the members of the study sample was average, and the most difficulties related to the student, followed by the curriculum, then the difficulties of school administration, and finally the difficulties related to the teacher.  The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences in the answers of the study sample members to the difficulties of teaching art education due to the variables (gender, specialization, and years of experience), while there were difficulties in teaching art education due to the variable of school type and in favor of mixed schools.
