This study aims to identify the role of learning manual technical skills in rehabilitating people with special abilities at the Center of Friends of Intellectual Disability in the city of Benghazi. As for the society of parents and supervisors, (50) individuals were selected from the parents of people with intellectual disabilities, and (45) supervisors from the administrative supervisors of the association.
The quasi-experimental approach was used, which was applied to the study sample of students with special abilities, where a pre-test was conducted for those with special abilities, in which free artwork was carried out, implemented and directed. It was a free artwork, executed and directed.
The researchers used the descriptive analytical approach to determine the extent to which parents of students and administrative supervisors in the association realize the role of manual technical skills in rehabilitating people with special abilities, through a questionnaire to collect data from the study sample of parents and administrative supervisors in the association, after ensuring its stability and validity, and for analysis it used the statistical program For Social Sciences (SPSS), where some statistical methods were used such as arithmetic means, standard deviations, T-test, and one way ANOVA.
The results of the manual works of art that were applied in the quasi-experimental study revealed that there was a noticeable development in some manual skills, including cutting, pasting, and taking out the artwork after training on models. The development in a high degree in the axis of acquisition, medium in the axis of response, and was acceptable in the axis of mastery, The results also showed that the level of administrative supervisors' awareness of the role of learning manual technical skills in qualifying people with special abilities was low, and that there were no statistically significant differences due to the variables of academic qualification, specialization, and years of experience. As for the level of parents' awareness of the role of learning manual technical skills in qualifying people with special abilities Special abilities were also low, and that there were no statistically significant differences due to the variables of age and income level, while there were differences in the level of parents' perception that could be attributed to the educational qualification variable.
