About the Journal

The Libyan Journal of Dentistry (LJD) is the official open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal of the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Benghazi. It is published twice a year, in May and November, and disseminates original research, reviews, and clinical reports across the full breadth of dental and oral-health sciences.

To be a leading, distinguished, and internationally recognized scientific journal classified among the most respected indexed publications for peer-reviewed research in the dental sciences.

The Libyan Journal of Dentistry aspires to be the principal regional outlet for high-quality dental research, recognized by international indexing services for the rigour of its peer review, the integrity of its editorial process, and the relevance of its scholarship to clinical practice, dental education, and public oral health.

Mission

To disseminate new and reliable knowledge across all disciplines of dentistry, with a particular emphasis on scientifically rigorous and clinically relevant work that meets the needs of researchers, clinicians, educators, and policy-makers in Libya and the wider region.

The journal serves as a vital forum where researchers, clinicians, educators, and policy-makers share and discuss high-quality, impactful work that influences the future of dentistry. The journal welcomes original research, systematic reviews, case reports, short communications, and letters that advance the science and practice of dentistry.

Strategic Objectives

The Libyan Journal of Dentistry pursues seven strategic objectives:
